Stars update

Meta is rolling out the Stars feature to more creators on a trial basis. Creators in this test group can earn stars from any public content.

Facebook's Stars feature is similar to Twitch's Beats and YouTube's Super Chat feature. These are essentially digital gifts that creators receive as real money. The digital gifting system will get a big boost on this platform by bringing stars feature for all creators. The meta is also running some events that will encourage users to buy stars.

Stars gifting season

December is going to be the stars gifting season on Facebook. If you are an Eligible Creator, you should know the following dates:

Stars Party Bonus: From December 7th to December 12th, creators can earn bonus stars by setting goals. Check Professional Dashboard for that.

Stars Sales: Stars sales will continue from December 14. This deal is available on Live, On Demand, Reels, etc. where users can avail Stars discount.
Facebook users can buy limited-time seasonal, virtual gifts. These themed gifts are running Facebook experiments on video reels on the topics of pets, cars, fashion, and dance.

Payment Threshold Update

Facebook has lowered the minimum payment threshold for US-based creators from $100 to $25. The new payment threshold also applies to revenue from Stars and Facebook subscriptions. Payment thresholds will be lowered for other Facebook monetization products going forward.

Other new features

Meta is testing some new features on Facebook to increase revenue-based income for creators. What is included in this test:

Free Stars: The meta offers some fans free stars that fans can give to their favorite creators. The more reels posted, the more chances creators have to be included in this test.

Facebook Reels Ads: Meta is testing globally showing ads on Facebook Reels. Overlay ads, banner ads, post loop ads, etc. are currently being tested.
Subscriptions: Meta brings new and easy ways for creators to promote the Facebook Subscriptions feature. The Facebook watch page will have a “Subscribe” button from which viewers can directly subscribe.
Meta is also bringing live-agent assistance for monetization issues for US creators with 10,000 or more followers.
